Propolis, or bee glue, is a waxy resinous mixture that honey bees produce by mixing their saliva and beeswax with compounds from various plants and trees. Bees use propolis to protect and sterilize the environment and to seal unwanted gaps in the beehive.

Propolis has a number of applications in treating various health concerns due to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, antioxidant, antimycotic, antifungal, antiulcer, anticancer and immunomodulatory properties. Accordingly, it is used in maintaining good oral health, plays a role in dermatology care, and serves as part of an overall wellness plan.
